It is completely FREE to register and FREE to
buy on this auction site. It is also FREE to create an auction and sell using
the basic listing features. However, if while creating your auctions, you decide
to upgrade your listings’ appearance and placement preference, (to increase
exposure,) then there may be small fees involved. Please see our “Site Fees”
page for more details. You can browse and search on your very first
visit with no restrictions. However, in order to buy and sell items on this
site you must become a registered member. Registering is FREE and extremely quick
and easy. Simply click on the “Register” button/link, (found on both the header
and footer navigation bars,) and fill in the application form. You must give a
valid email address because it is used to accomplish an instant approval
procedure. No credit card is needed unless you decide to buy something. Please
see our “Help” page for more details. In accordance with Browse - You can browse the auctions by clicking on any category and/or subcategory. Within categories/subcategories you will see a listed view of any offered auctions. The list will usually include photos, titles, and a few brief details. Click on any photo or title to see more auction details. Search - You can perform a quick search by using the “Search” box near the top of almost all site pages. Type in any word or phrase which best describes what you seek. The web site search program will attempt to find matches for you. A match would be any auction with that word or phrase in its title or description. If your phrase is too complex the search may fail with no results. Single words work best and produce the most matches. Please see our “Help” page for more details on searching. To place a bid on an item you must first be a
registered member and logged into the site. Once you find an auction you would
like to participate in, find the bidding box displayed at the bottom of the item
description (auction) page. You just type in the maximum dollar amount that you
are willing to pay for the item and click the “Place Bid” button. Winning
bidders can usually pay online using credit cards or instant transfer of funds.
All online transactions are securely encrypted and protected. Please see our
“Help” page for more details on bidding. Our auction site will automatically notify you by
email if you are outbid. Auto (or Proxy) bidding is like having someone
else handle your bidding for you. Simply bid on any auction as normal, but enter
in the maximum price you are willing to pay for the item. The computer knows
that it may not be necessary to increase your bid up to its maximum right away.
Instead, it adjusts your bid downward, (if possible,) so that it is set just
above the last highest bidder. It still remembers your maximum bid, though.
Later, if another bidder raises the current bid, the computer will automatically
increase your bid as well in order to keep you on top. It will continue to
increase your bid as needed until your maximum bid is reached. It is also quite
possible to win the item without ever reaching your maximum bid amount. This
type of bidding is automatic on this auction site so just go and enjoy it. Please
see our “Help” page for more details on bidding. You can keep an eye on everything you are
bidding on by visiting the members’ area and selecting the “Current Bids” link
in the left sidebar. Buy Now is an opportunity to skip the bidding
process and simply buy the item outright for the seller’s asking price. If the
seller has elected to offer the Buy Now feature there will be a “Buy Now”
button displayed on the auction details page along with his asking price. After
clicking on the button you will be redirected to a confirmation page and given
payment details. On a standard auction that auction would end instantly because
the item has been sold and no other bids are accepted. On a Dutch style auction,
(multiple quantities,) you can enter the quantity of that item you wish to buy
(depending on the quantity available.) If you purchase less than there are
available in total, the auction will remain open with the number of items left
available after you have purchased the amount you want. Please see our “Help”
page for more details on Buy Now. Once you have signed up for membership, you are
free to sell items through public auctions or to become a merchant by starting your
own auction store. In order to start a standard auction, simply click on the
“Sell” button found on both the header and footer navigation bars. The program
will then usher you through a 7 step process where you get to choose how your
auction will look and behave. You may want to prepare a few things prior to
creating the auction, such as a written description, photographs, and investigate
various shipping methods. You can also arrange to accept credit cards or
instant transfers to your online account with a little advanced preparation. Please
see our “Help” page for more details on selling. You can keep an eye on everything you are
selling by visiting the members’ area and selecting the “Open Auctions” link in
the left sidebar. Yes you can, however we recommend you use basic
tags as complex HTML descriptions may not display correctly. If you wish to run a large number of auctions on
a regular basis, you should consider creating an Auction Store. An Action Store
is an area of the website that is set aside just for your auctions. You can
create your own categories and fill them with your own audio equipment auctions
or related items. Buyers can spend time browsing through your auctions or
perform searches all under your store roof, so-to-speak. You can even customize
your stores’ appearance to for that added distinctiveness that will keep them
coming back for more. Please see our “Site Fees” and “Help” pages for more
details on stores. You can find much more information on our
auction and site features by going to the “Help” page. It is designed to
swiftly navigate to the topic of interest with minimal mouse clicks. If you
don’t find what you seek there, please send me a message using the “Contact Us”
page. I’ll try to answer your question as quickly as possible and perhaps even
add the topic to the FAQ page.

More about our site:Welcome to ProAux.com, the place where you can freely buy, sell, and trade pre-owned audio related items. This auction site aims to address the most important problem of auctioning used audio equipment, the cost. Many sellers are often revolted after receiving their bill for listing items on other popular online auction sites. On some auction sites it is possible to run up fees of over $50 just by selling a single item. According to ProAux.com President Gordon Brinton, anger and resentment toward those big sites can run deep, particularly among the audio community. His findings come from seeing many years of discussion and complaints in audio related Internet forums. Professionals and hobbyists alike tend to be somewhat frustrated when it comes to buying and selling used equipment. Aa a musician, live sound engineer, system designer, home studio owner, speaker reconer, and all around audiophile, Gordon has certainly had his share of auctioning second-hand gear. He speaks for many when he says he is fed up with soaring End-of-Auction charges and what seems like a minefield of listing fees He has decided to fight back by giving away free auction space to fellow audio enthusiasts everywhere. Gordon has generously opened this site to the greater audio community and is allowing them to sell auction style completely free of charge. He says all standard auction business is on-the-house regardless of whether you are buying, selling, or trading. In fact, the only way to generate a fee here at ProAux.com is to specify that your listings be given special treatment. Gordon puts into plain words what exactly led him to start up his free auction site, "We just needed a place to buy, sell, and trade our audio hardware without feeling like we were being fleeced. We were never very fond about all the doll babies and jewelry getting in our way either. I know there is not much room for profit. What little fees I do happen to collect will go toward maintaining the site. I just wanted to prove it could be done without all the big fees." ProAux.com was fully launched in late 2007. It offers a wide range of categories to cover almost any industry related item. This setting also amasses shoppers whose main interest is, in one way or another, in audio. It makes available the ideal venue to buy, sell, and trade for this enormous niche market. Home HiFi buffs, car audio lovers, DJ's, studio owners, acoustic experts, weekend warriors, and pro engineers are all welcome. Many of the most common auction site features are provided to make visitors feel right at home. Users will discover that this site requires little or no learning curve. Luxuries such as instant payments and instant messaging are all built in. Vendors can setup permanent stores to market their wares. Also offered are seller verification to help curve dishonesty. No matter what kind of audio gadgets you may be looking for, ProAux.com is a good place to start. We often have items like high end equipment for car audio, HiFi, home theater, DJ systems, pro audio, pro, project, or home studio gear, and everything in between. Frequently find things like used amplifiers, used cd players, speakers, subwoofers, and replacement drivers, computer sound cards and the likes. Everything from recording software and audio books to acoustic treatment, Iso booths, and accessories. We sometimes carry bulk cable, specialized tools, audio cabling, and snakes. If you do have a recording studio you may be interested in racks, studio furniture, lava lamps, and studio decor items. You may also seek a studio mixer w/ meter bridge, microphone, mic preamp, CD recorder or player, or even a multitrack reel to reel. Thanks for visiting these no-fee public sales for sound gear.
